Its more a matter of either they get to a certain temperature and fail or they don't. Running a temperature below what ever that "transition phase" temperature is for a long time doesn't seem to break them down. The rubber material the stock ones are made of just fails from a variety of reasons, age, stress, heat, etc. I agree that they won't "melt" down like the others but they are going to fail regardless.
